• Overview

Majority of the population of Charaideo district depend on Livestock and poultry rearing activity for their livelihood. The Veterinary activities have played a major role in contributing towards the sustainable development of the people through higher production of milk, meat and eggs  along with disease prevention and treatmenrt contributing to the nutrional security and maintenance of public health as a whole and in contributing to employment generation and the economic prosperity of Charaideo district.

Objectives

1) To enhance milk, meat and egg production.
2) To improve breedable livestock population through Artificial Insemination & Natural service by improved breeds.
3) To enhance production of quality feed and fodder.
4) To take up available insurance to support livestock.
5) To enhance backyard poultry farming.
6) To improved healthcare facilities in prevention and control of animal diseases.
7) To disseminate technical knowhow in management of livestock and poultry
     to the farmers.
8) To improve better collection, processing and marketing infrastructure.
9) To make producers and consumers aware of the benefits of clean and hygienic
     animal products.
10) To build capacity of Veterinary professionals for providing better resource to the
       farmers.
11) Expansion of extension services involving private A.I. workers such as G.M.
12) Prevention of animal and poultry diseases through vigilance and routine immunization.
13) Investigation treatment control and surveillance of animal diseases.
14) Mass awareness through various programs, exhibition posturing and hoardings.
